I WAS THERE!!!

I was at the Toronto devMEET!!! :D

It was a long walk from High Park station to the meeting place, but well worth the effort. When I got there, I was directed to go to where the rest of the group was. Even though I was told beforehand that there was already over a hundred people there, the sight of such a big crowd (and all with Canadian flags!) was still overwhelming. I don't think I made it into the group photos, though, since I got there a bit late.

$spyed gave a brief introduction in the beginning and divided us into groups -- traditional art, digital art, photography, literature, and everything art.

I met quite a few of the traditional art folks. Looks like most of the people there draw anime. I didn't really meet someone who draws portraits like I do, but I wasn't really expecting to find one anyway. Some folks brought their portfolios and sketchbooks and I very much enjoyed viewing their works.

Overall, it was a great experience and I'm so glad I came! I hope they have this again in the near future!

What's the name of the lj community? Do you need to answer a bunch of questions to join? I think I suck at those questions. I got rejected by stormy fansubs community probably because I'm not fangirly enough. lol

You can also go to aibakaland forums [link] I think there's a bunch of canadians there too, but I don't really participate much at the forums there. I mostly just lurk or go to the fanart area.

lol, mhm i think i just pressed join? its called canada_je or something like that ^^; yeah, i got rejected by stormy twice << i have to wait till august 1st to try again ;-; meanwhile all the new shukudai is being uploaded and ultra strong game and blah >< i try not to think of what im missing ^^;

i was part of aibakaforums but eventually i posted all i wanted to say in the interesting threads and couldn't find something to say because everything had already been said by someone else << so im basically kicked off << i dont bother checking it anymore now that i (was) part of stormy << plus now they have a minimum comment thing...im thinking its 500...which i think im finally at, because really, i answered the questions twice with different answers so i dont know what more they want me to say XD so hopefully third times the charm ><

could the lj community be canada_johnnys? whaaaa.. it says there's a canadian premiere of yatterman in montreal!?

stormy's faq says they look at your participation in the other lj communities. maybe that's what we're both missing. But honestly, much as i love arashi, i am not the kind of person who would go and discuss their attributes ad nauseum.

Thanks! I only brought my sketchbook that I use for drawing experiments (which didn't always turn out too well). I wish I brought some of my better sketchbooks with me to the devmeet. Oh well.
